(Meredith) -- An 11-year-old boy is dead after police in Arizona say he shot and killed his grandmother before turning the gun on himself.
According to KTVK, the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office said the boy's grandparents asked him to clean his room throughout the day Saturday, but he refused.
The couple was watching television, when the boy approached them from behind and shot his grandmother. Yvonne Woodard was struck in the back of the head, authorities said.
The boy's grandfather, Doyle Herbert, told police he ran after his grandson and saw him take a couple steps before falling to the ground.
The gun belonged to Herbert and the grandparents had full custody of the 11-year-old boy. Posted By Ghost
