11 News reports "Lakeland, Florida - A homecoming dance is scheduled Saturday night for all Lakeland High School students at the Lakeland Center from 8 p.m. until 11 p.m.
It's the last event planned during a week-long homecoming celebration. Administrators want all the students to have a good time, but they're cracking down this year on students who grind on each other and perform sexually explicit dances.
The principal of Lakeland High School, Tracy Collins, isn't alone in her decision to ban what's called "booty dancing." She says it's been a problem for some time and principals across the Polk County School district are taking a tougher stance against it. Click here to watch an example.
