Tragic: Mother Survives An Attempted Murder By Her Ex-Husband Only To Be Killed By Her Own Son!

Sedric Clayton was sentenced Wednesday to spend the next 30 years in prison after he pleaded guilty to killing his own mother, Anita Washington. Her body was found in a wooded area of Millbrook back in August of 2014. She'd been shot once in the head. A stoic Clayton, who initially pleaded not guilty, appeared before Judge Sibley Reynolds. He was surrounded by his mother’s family before the multi-decade sentence was handed down. Washington’s cousin, Robert Walker, stood beside him and spoke on behalf of the family. This wasn’t Walker’s first visit to Courtroom 1 in Elmore County's courthouse. He was at Anita's side in 2009 at the sentencing of her ex-husband.
