Ex-NBA player Rasual Butler and his wife a singer who appeared on "American Idol" were both killed in a single car crash in Studio City, CA early Wednesday morning, TMZ Sports is reporting. 38-year-old Butler who was drafted by the Miami Heat in 2002, lost control of his Range Rover around 2 AM, struck a parking meter and slammed into a wall. The car flipped.
The crash was reported around 2:30 a.m. on Ventura Boulevard near Arch Drive, said Officer J. Mayorga of the Los Angeles Police Department's Valley Traffic Division.The vehicle crashed into several fixed objects, Mayorga said. Video from the scene showed the vehicle had crashed into and damaged a Marshalls store. Police said the vehicle was a new Range Rover that had to be speeding, judging by the debris.
